The stairs were quite steep and narrow, and accessing the bathroom required ducking due to a noticeable step up. I had a decent stay at Hidalgo Boutique Rooms. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the northern part of Isla Mujeres, but I struggled with some aspects of the room. The decor is cute, but there were limited surfaces to place my belongings which I found inconvenient. A few upgrades could really enhance the experience.
